ROOM 14 like to get involved in activities around our school. Here a just a few of the things we do; there are also students on sports teams and in the choir.

Awhina Captains

Our wonderful Kereru awhina captains are Aman and Lynette.

As Awhina Captains, Aman and I are expected to help everyone in our awhina and the rest of the school. Being Awhina Captains also means being the leaders of the school, so lots of people look up to us. We are also expected to be rolemodels for the juniors. Being an Awhina Captain means you have to be very responsible. You have to do the right things and follow the Willowbank Way. But you are able to have fun. So, if your good at these things, I think you have the chance of being an Awhina Captain.

Peer Mediators

Our peer mediators work around our school at morning tea and lunch times to help children solve their own problems using mediation skills and techniques. This is a very important job and they give up their own time to help others, thanks Peer Mediators!

As well as being an Awhina Captain, I'm also a Peer Mediator. This means I give up my lunchtime to help people. Peer Mediators are people whp help you solve your problems, but not solving it for you. Peer Mediatrs are also able to give out Caught Being Goods to people playing nicely together of being good. So, if you are being good, you might be given a Caught Being Good. So, be on your BEST behaviour everyday.
